Homophobia and health issues of LGBT youth- a study

Abstract

The marginalized LGBT(Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgender) faces many social, legal and psychological problems unattended by the experts concerned. Homophobia due to social, religious and moral assumptions preclude the mainstream society from being interactive with this alienated and neglected part of society. Consequently they remain deprived of the common rights of a citizen. In this paper an attempt has been made to present the health and medical issues of LGBT on the basis of the research conducted in various countries.
